Be A Volunteer!

We strive to provide all of our volunteers with meaningful and fulfilling experiences. Volunteers at Care for the Homeless come from a variety of backgrounds, and include students, professionals, and retirees alike. Their dedicated service plays a critical role in fulfilling the CFH mission.

In order to best accommodate our volunteers, we work to keep hours and locations flexible. Many volunteers will provide their services on a one-time basis. Regular arrangements usually range from once a week to once every other month. We generally expect our regular volunteers to be able to commit to a schedule for at least 4-6 months.

While we look for all types of volunteers, we are currently in need of licensed health providers and health service experts, including specialists, dentists, and ophthalmologists to provide supplementary services to our primary healthcare. At present, we are especially seeking volunteer services from podiatrists, as many of our patients suffer from a variety of foot problems.

We also have a special need for volunteer nutritionists and dietitians who are excited about providing their expertise in any of the following wide range of capacities, including individual counseling, group sessions, and provider nutrition training.
