On Friday, March 28th, we hosted a flu shot event at Susan’s Place, our women’s shelter and health center in the Bronx. Residents were encouraged to get their annual flu shot to stay healthy and prevent serious illness. They were also eligible to receive MetroCards after filling out a survey about their experience, and were given information about joining the Consumer Advisory Board.

Millions of people contract the flu each year, and it can be especially dangerous for vulnerable groups. By providing our residents with annual flu shots, we are keeping everyone safe.

A heartfelt thank you to our Population Health team, our Policy and Advocacy Manager Chelsea Rose, and our Care For the Homeless Board member Cynthia English for their exceptional support. A special thank you to Direct Relief for the generous grant and support that made this event possible.

CFH opened Susan’s Place in 2008, and since then, 1,200+ women have healed, gotten back on their feet, and found permanent housing. With your support, we can serve thousands more with programs just like this flu shot event.
