The Consumer Advisory Board (CAB)

Explore below to meet the CAB and learn about what they do.

What is the CAB?

The Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) is a group of individuals that utilize CFH health services and have the experience of homelessness.  The CAB provides valuable feedback and guidance on CFH operations and advocacy programming ensuring that consumer voices are at the center of our organizationโ€™s work.

The CAB helps support CFHโ€™s mission of delivering high-quality and client-centered health care, shelter, and human services to people experiencing homelessness in NYC while advocating for policies to prevent and end homelessness.

2024 highlights

Our CAB met with 24 legislative offices connecting policy issues with their own experiences of homelessness and utilization of CFH services. We also provided legislative support for the Homeless Protection Act campaign, which would classify homelessness as a protected status under NYS hate crimes law, and helped register over 100 individuals experiencing homelessness during the 2024 election cycle!
